I remember the gentleman (and his wife) with the dogs as I stayed there, as well Benyada Lodge in Surin several shops away. Wonderful people and neighborhood. Fingers crossed to return in winter 2023. It's 30 below in Ottawa Canada.
Would you recommend staying in Surin at this time or go elsewhere in Phuket? Coming in December
Thanks for another great vlog, Tony. I look forward to returning to Phuket as well, but like the gentleman said, having to take 3 tests at my own expense just too much for me I think. I do have my ticket for August 3rd but may move it to Oct or Nov this year. The gentleman is right that probably not a lot of tourists will arrive to necessitate opening his business in July but when the government does open up the restrictions and businesses are open again, it will be difficult to find staff in the beginning. Weâre experiencing that here now in Los Angeles! People rushed out to spend money in restaurants and things that there arenât enough workers to go around. Will be interesting to see if that will happen in Thailand and Phuket too, or not.

Hi, thank you very much for this video. We have already got our flights booked and my husband is in touch with twin palms hotel. He chose it coz the area apparently has a lot of small restaurants that we can go to. We are excited and I hope the businesses do open come July.

Hi Tony, we are devastated to see how Phuket has been affected by the Covid Pandemic. So sad to see most of the businesses shut down or closed. We have visited Phuket 4 times in the past 10yrs as it an easy journey from Dubai where we currently work/live. We have plans to come back and stay at the Nai Harn in mid July and would love to take you out for a beer in one of the local establishments to try and help get them back on their feet x
