Hello Besty i go to Koh Samed every year for 3/4 weeks in Jan/Feb, i will give you some tips, no 1 dont get your ticket to Koh Samed from inside the Pier, at Rayong the taxi drivers automatically drop you inside they get commision, when they drop you off, walk back to the main road, and turn left, about 25 metres on your left is an open air ticket counter were a really funny Thai lady is always sitting down, there is also a place to get freshly cooked food, you can get as of last Feb 2019, a return ticket for a speedboat for 300 baht, and they drop you on the beach takes 15 minutes, here you can also book a taxi to Patts for 1000 baht. tip no 2 never ever stay in Sai kaew beach, its over run with chinese getting on and off speedboats every 10 minutes and if you trying to relax its a real pain. go were i stay a place called Tub Tim resort, http://www.samedtubtim.com/rooms.php?l=default&n=2#06, the speedboat will drop you on the beach, 2000 baht per night basic room and includes breakfast. No chineses only the speedboats that are dropping people off to the resorts, fantastic beach, 95% of people staying there are Europeans, really good food prices and to the left of tubtim along the beach, in the evening is a bar that is all lit up at night. open about 5pm they have made seating areas on the rocks to sit near the sea. and lots of other bars and places to eat and drink. and just the odd vendor selling silk sarongs and some food vendors. This place is so good,, when we go, one of the resorts a member of staff, every morning at 6.30am puts out two deck chairs a table and an umbrella and on the table out chalet number. we stroll down to the beach and its all set up for us. PERFECT.. .

Nice little video BFB,.that place is on my to do list,..would have liked to see a bit more of that nice looking bar,..food wise i,m not very adventurous,.i stay clear of seafood, to many horror stories of food poisoning for my liking,plus i find rice very boring,.except sticky rice which i like,especially the red type,..please inform us of the euro menu if you can,.[that will be me then]…cheers besty and enjoy,…thanks.

Been at koh samet 3..4. Times didn't know there was that many buildings on that island..stayed in a small chalet at a place called candlelight beach…its just of rayong…
Use to cost 5 baht to get into the park. Was a quiet place 30 years ago. Too bad it a tourist trap now.
